Anatomy of the (broken)heart

Having a broken heart can feel like a strange combination of Hell and an absurd joke awaiting its punchline.  Using excerpts from Dante’s Inferno and Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland alongside original text, “Anatomy of the (broken)heart” is a collection of scenes from different facets of a broken heart from the despairing to the hopeful.  Collaged into an antique children’s anatomy book, then presented as a reproducible publication, this piece is both an artifact and a work of sequential art.
